First post of the year!!!!!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope everyone's recovering from their night of partying.

I LOVE the first of January. There's nothing like it, is there? There's a whole year stretching out in front of me and I know that I'm going to make the very best of it. The most exciting part? I'm not going to be alone on the journey.

And check this out:

Me llamo Will. Necesito un maletero.

Heh. That's sort of a joke since that's supposed to say, "My name is Will. I need a porter." I'm a dork. But I am going to try and learn a few little phrases every day.

----

For Orli:

I love the way you rub your eyes when you first wake up in the morning.

(I'm serious about telling you something every day, sweetie.)

You know, laddie, I'm thinking you mun have some Scots blood the way you predict gloom and doom.

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
I do. My mom's side of the family is Scottish.

My dad's is Irish.

[identity profile] thief-caitir.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 07:36 am (UTC)(link)
Then you've more than your fair share of a chance at sight. Do you think you're seeing something uncanny?

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
Sight? As in seeing the future? *thinks* I've always had this feeling I won't see forty. I'm not sure why, I try to ignore it most of the time, but every now and then it creeps up on me.

[identity profile] thief-caitir.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 07:51 am (UTC)(link)
*tries to cheer him*
And I've always had a feeling I'd have a little cottage and a dozen wee bairns dragging at my skirts.

*serious again*
Laddie, do not borrow sorrow for it finds us all soon enou'. Live today, caraid, every blessed moment of it.

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
*offers a small smile* A dozen, huh?

*sighs* I know I shouldn't worry for no reason. Sometimes I can imagine myself living to a ripe old age with Orli. I tell him that all the time. But then I feel as if we have to hurry up and live our lives. *blushes* I asked Orlando to marry me when we'd been together a week shy of four months. It felt like the right thing to do.

Live each day as though it's your last and then when you're a wizened old man, you can sit by the fire and shock your great grandchildren with what a Tartar you were. But if you dinna have that long life, you willna have many regrets to keep you company on your bier.

Do as I do, caraid, drink life dry.

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 09:15 am (UTC)(link)
*little smile* I think that's excellent advice, Kate. And I'm going to grab Orli's hand and drag him along with me. *grins*

[identity profile] thief-caitir.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
*smile*
Of course. Wine shared is wine sweetened.

[identity profile] thief-caitir.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
*smiles brightly*
So go and share some with your love and dinna worry for the future. Trust me, tomorrow or the day after you'll be fit as MacGillvary's pig and all this will be the past.

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
*chuckles* Thanks, Kate. You're a lot of fun to talk to. And I appreciate you listening.

[identity profile] thief-caitir.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
*grins*
I'm always available for a friend to bend my ear, Will.

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
*nods, smiling* Me too. I mean it.

[identity profile] thief-caitir.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
You may find me taking you up on that sometime, lad.

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Good because you should, lass. *grins*

[identity profile] thief-caitir.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
*grins*
We'll have you speaking like Highland man in no time now and then we'll get you a proper kilt and teach you the pipes. Soon you'll be bonnie braw Scotsman with heather and thistle in your bonnet.

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 08:29 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs* Hey, Orli might get a kick out of seeing me in a kilt. He wore one when he was best man at his friend's wedding, and it was probably one of the hottest things I've seen.

[identity profile] thief-caitir.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 09:07 am (UTC)(link)
Then you both should wear one if you're to be marrit. If he has no clan alliance in his family, I'll claim him as clan brother and he can stand in the MacGregor colors.

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 09:24 am (UTC)(link)
That's really sweet of you! I'm not sure if he'd want to wear a kilt for our wedding, though. He wore one because his friend's Scottish and the wedding was in Scotland.

[identity profile] thief-caitir.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 09:37 am (UTC)(link)
Tell him he should. There no man however crabbit or ill favoured that doesna look the better for a kilt. And a man as beautiful as yours canna help but set every heart that sees him in one to blazing.

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 09:44 am (UTC)(link)
Man, you've got that right. Keep talking like that and I'll have to run off to pounce him.

[identity profile] thief-caitir.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
I have the perfect argument for your lad to go kilted for your wedding. Tell him he can be a tradtional Scots and be mother naked beneath it. It'll take less time to get on with the honeymoon. *giggles*

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 09:58 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, he'll definitely agree with that point... *laughs* I got under that kilt so fast.

[identity profile] thief-caitir.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 10:10 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs*
Well they do say ya canna put the brakes on Highland man.
