Dealing with the masses
Mar. 9th, 2006 08:23 amI like people. Honestly, I do. I believe in the goodness of humanity and live in hope that good will always win out when it counts the most. Yes, bad things happen to good people on a daily basis (maybe even hourly?) but that doesn't mean that people as a whole are bad. If they were, when all those bad things happened to all those good people, no one would ever lift a finger to help them. But we do help each other. Our governments might fail us - faceless bureaucracies are not people - but we are there for one another. We'll take care of each other when no one else will.
However
People, when you're waiting at a crosswalk and the light's red, DON'T CROSS THE STREET IN FRONT OF A CAR THAT IS ABOUT TO GO THROUGH A GREEN. Yes, I'm a little shaken that I almost hit some idiot with my car, and grateful I have good reflexes, but I HATE it when people do stupid things like that. The best part? He just looked at me and laughed, then flipped me off. I should have hit him. Why do the rest of us have to live our lives making sure those morons don't end up killing themselves? Yes, I like people, for the most part, but the stupid really do need to be scooped out of the gene pool.
And for my happy thought: I love Seattle. People here are laid back and friendly, Washington is a gorgeous state and I'm glad that of all the places I could have moved, I came here.
