New York: Open to anyone who'd like to run into him

[ooc: Will and I didn't want to set up anything specific without finalizing with muns/pups first, so feel free to run into him here, even if you don't know him and are just in the New York area. Hell, even if you just want to run by and shout "dork!" at him, feel free.

BTW, Christine, Eve and Billie can assume he called them :-) No rush or time limit, so no worries if you're busy/not interested.]

Will was staying in a hotel in Manhattan while he was there for his adventure of meeting his new friends. He'd called everyone who'd shown interest in meeting him but with whom he hadn't had a chance to finalize any plans for meeting. His messages had been short and basically said he'd be in the lounge and bar area. If they didn't catch him there, they could reach him on his cell.

Nursing a scotch, sitting at the bar and looking at the people who came in, Will felt happy to just be there. He loved New York. If he didn't miss Kevin so much, he'd probably stay for another week. For now, though, he'd enjoy the time he had left and keep people watching.

"I came here as a kid a couple of times, with my parents, but I barely remember it. And I definitely didn't do anything like explore the big city." He smiled at her, thinking about what he'd like to do. "Would it be lame of me to ask you to take me up?"

[identity profile] lost-la-femme.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Lame? Why would that be lame?"

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
Will chuckled. "Well, if you knew how excited I am at the prospect, you might find it a little geeky."

[identity profile] lost-la-femme.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll have you know there is absolutely nothing geeky about flying. Well, I guess there's some of those uniforms some airlines make people wear, they could be put into that class." She grinned as she lifted her drink again. "But as for wanting to go for a look round, definitely not geeky. So, when you got some time?"

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey, I can be all yours right now," Will grinned. "I've got a feeling this'll be the highlight of my trip. And Kev'll be so jealous."

[identity profile] lost-la-femme.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Mmm, making the boyfriend jealous! A girl's work is always fun!" She downs the rest of her juice, replacing the glass and stand up, close to Will's stool. "Well, come on sweetheart, where there's a Will there's a way, and I can hear the skies calling."

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Excellent!" Will downed the rest of his drink and stood up. Grinning, he gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you, pretty pilot lady."

[identity profile] lost-la-femme.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 08:07 am (UTC)(link)
She gave him a smile, slipped an arm through his, and guided him from the bar. "Don't mind a short walk do you?" she asked as they headed toward the door of the hotel. The building the bird was parked on was only two blocks away and she'd been told the client wouldn't require her till well after dark. It'd worked out well that Will had been around as it gave her something to fill her time in with. It was nice to be paid to sit around, but she preferred to be doing something.

"It's only a couple of blocks."

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
As they walked out, Will couldn't help noticing more than a few of the men watching Eve, and he felt a little smug that none of them knew about the adventure he was about to go on. Eve might do this for a living, but it was all brand new to him. Plus, she was probably the toughest women he'd ever meet and it would be kind of cool to see her in action.

"I could even last for three blocks, if I had to," Will smiled as they hit the street.

[identity profile] lost-la-femme.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
She laughed at this. "Well remember there's the walk back afterwards," she told him. "If you're still capable of walking that is." She didn't expand on that. After all she'd brought men to their knees without even touching them through her flying. But most of that type of flying was not done in controlled air space, which most of this would be. New York was tied down tight since September 2001, and every movement closely monitored.

Her comment roused his curiosity. "If I'm capable? What exactly are you going to do while we're up there?" He laughed. "And will it have to involve air sick bags?"

[identity profile] lost-la-femme.livejournal.com 2006-05-15 08:57 am (UTC)(link)
She cocked an eyebrow as she looked at him. "You're not the travel-sick type, are you?" They paused as they reached the corner, waiting for the lights to change so they could cross.

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
"No, not when I'm on a huge plane. And roller coasters don't phase me, at all." He smiled. "You've got me curious, is all."

[identity profile] lost-la-femme.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 11:07 am (UTC)(link)
Automatically checking before stepping off the kerb, as most did, Eve scanned the surging crowd and managed to weave them in and out of the human tide.

"Glad you're alright on roller coasters," she told him, settling back into a steady stride. She was too, as that meant she could do a little more than if he had trouble with them. 'Chimney stacking' always was fun!

"How are you with defying gravity?"

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2006-05-17 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Will laughed, then quickly apologized when he accidentally bumped into another pedestrian.

"Um, I'm not sure. I don't get to defy a whole lot of gravity when I'm at the bank."

[identity profile] lost-la-femme.livejournal.com 2006-05-17 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"What, all that juggling of money, and people's investments? Thought bankers would be rather adept at it!"

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2006-05-20 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
"That's walking a tightrope," Will grinned. "Not quite as exciting as actually defying gravity. That's why you daredevils get to show us mere mortals how it's done."

[identity profile] lost-la-femme.livejournal.com 2006-05-22 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Eve laughed as she looked at him. "You ever actually walked a tightrope? Reckon there'd be a fair amount of gravity trying to bring you undone," she pointed out, then nudged him toward the doors of a large building. The helo was on one of the helipads up top and she led the way across to the one elevator that accessed that level.

"And you're not afraid of heights, are you?"

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2006-05-23 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
"Newp," Will grinned, shaking his head as they waited for the elevator. "I love heights, actually. Beneath this calm, banker's exterior lies the heart of a thrillseeker."

[identity profile] lost-la-femme.livejournal.com 2006-05-23 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Although the twinkle in her eye was hidden behind the sunglasses, it was evident in her voice. "Good!" The lift doors opened and they stepped inside the lift that was express to the top ten floors and then the roof.

"Then let's go see what air traffic control will let us get away with!" she told him with a grin as the lift car accelerated upwards.

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2006-06-03 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Will laughed at that, only able to guess at what Eve had in mind.

"And if we get arrested, I'm sure it would be worth it," he teased as he watched the numbers for the floors light up as they climbed.

[identity profile] lost-la-femme.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh they won't arrest us, probably won't be anything left to arrest after the fighters are scrambled to take us out," she told him lightly, head tilted back a little as she watched the floor indicator. There was no way to tell whether this was said for amusement or with complete conviction from her tone.

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Will would never admit that the thought of that sent a rush of adrenaline through him that made him want to shove Eve against the wall of the elevator and shove his tongue down her throat. Besides, he wasn't interested in getting his ass kicked before he'd had a chance to go flying.

"Wow," he said softly. "What a way to go."

[identity profile] lost-la-femme.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
She threw a glance across at him and grinned. "Well it's better than lying in a hospital bed dying of some terminal disease, that's for sure!"

[identity profile] ex-will-port106.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
"No shit," Will laughed. "This is going to be amazing. And..." He cleared his throat. "If I get a little, um, overenthused, please, don't be offended."
