I don't really know...exactly what to say, because I've just been on the other side of things (I was the one trying to get in touch with my brother after he and his family had gone through their life not knowing about me). From what my brother told me, his mom reacted similarly when she found out. I think your mom just needs time. It's a big thing to really...get used to.
