Topic 121: Write a ficlette inspired by the word "fortune."
Peter grabbed the eggroll carton and took out the last one. He silently offered it to Will, who took a bite and shook his head.
"I'm stuffed, thanks," he grinned, chewing and sliding a leg over Peter's lap to straddle his legs.
"Yeah, I can tell," Peter said, giving Will a quick kiss before munching on the egg roll with a satisfied smile. "This was a great idea."
"Well, I think we should have a chinese food picnic in bed whenever we can," Will put his arms around his friend's neck and kissed his ear.
"Me, too. Definitely. My favorte part is the being naked."
"Really? I actually thought the kung pao was pretty spectacular."
"Yeah, I could tell, brat," Peter said, giving Will's bare ass a swat. "You spilled enough on me. It was hot, you know."
"Very hot."
"I meant the temperature."
"That, too."
Peter laughed and offered Will another bite of his eggroll. "I never knew you were such a messy eater."
"Mmm hmm," Will said, shaking his head. "You didn't seem to mind the way I kept cleaning it up, though."
"That's because I happen to like it when you lick me."
"My men's intuition told me you might." Will smiled and gave Peter a kiss on the mouth before he went back to nuzzling his friend's ear.
"You've been right about everything so far. What made you want to do this, though? We made a mess and that's not like you."
"Are you saying I'm fussy?"
"I'm saying you're neat and orderly. Suggesting we strip and dine in the bedroom was unexpected."
"I was going for spontaneous, so that's good, right?"
Peter kissed his cheek and smiled. "It's very good. We should hang out like this more often. No pun intended, of course."
"Idiot," Will laughed softly, rubbing his cheek against his best friend's. "I love you."
"I love you," Peter nodded.
Sighing happily, Will smiled. "I was inspired by that fortune cookie thing."
"Hmm?"
"Where I got the idea. That fortune cookie thing."
"What thing?"
Will pulled back. "You know, that thing where you read whatever fortune you get and add the words "in bed" to the end of it? Makes them a lot more interesting."
"I've never heard of that," Peter chuckled, "but I like it." He reached for the small bag containing their fortune cookies and shook it. "Here, take one. Let's see what they say."
Grinning, Will took a cookie and cracked it open, laughing when crumbs fell on Peter's chest. "I'll get those in a second."
"Yeah, you better," Peter murmured, opening his cookie, too, and reading the fortune. "Mine says, 'Patience is a virtue.'"
"In bed," Will giggled. "Can't argue with that."
Peter grinned and put his pieces of cookie in the bag and offered it to Will to do the same. "I think there's wisdom in your madness, Willie boy." He balled up the bag and threw it onto the bedroom floor. "Okay, what's yours say?"
Will cleared his throat and read, "'In life, as in dreams, nothing is impossible.' In bed."
The other man raised an eyebrow and put his arms around Will's waist. "I think we need to test that theory."
Looking at Peter - his best friend in the entire world - Will hoped they'd always be as happy as they were in this very moment.
"Yeah," he whispered, leaning in to kiss him, "me, too."
