Valentine's Day with his Boo

Will had woken Orlando on the holiest of days with a little loving followed by a picnic breakfast for them both in bed. Then, after showering and dressing, he'd thrown some clothes for the both of them into a case and told Orlando to dress warmly because he was being kidnapped and taken across the state line.

The drive was long, almost five hours once they finally found the place and pulled up in front of the cottage Will had rented for a few days. He wanted privacy, peace and quiet for them both. If they felt like it, there was skiing nearby, and the main inn had a dining room if they chose not to stay in to dine.

Will opens the door and shuffles Orli in out of the cold. He's pleased to see that the roses he'd asked for are on the kitchen table.

"Happy Valentine's day, baby," he grins, kicking the front door shut and pulling Orlando into his arms.

For an instant, Will looks at Orlando with a mixture of confusion and surprise. "You're talking about me?" He lets out a quick breath and pulls Orlando into his arms. "Sweetheart, I thought... God, no, baby. I don't need that stuff to be with you. I... It was something other lovers liked and I thought you liked it, but I can take it or leave it. I don't need it. Not by any stretch of the imagination, I promise you."

Orlando looks at him seriously, then begins to smile. "Really? You're completely sure?"

"Baby, I am so sure, I'll let you watch while I dump most of the stuff in my toy box." Will returns the smile, relieved. For a second, he'd seriously thought that Orlando would want to look elsewhere for something that was obviously damaging and self-destructive.

"I would do it if you asked and if I was sure you'd like it. But the only thing I need is to be with you." He gives Orli a sweet kiss, then rubs his cold nose against an equally pink one. "I'm sorry if I made you feel otherwise. Or if I forced you into it..."

Orlando cups Will's face in his hands. "Don't you dare say that. You didn't force me. I wanted it too, or at least I did for part of it, and when I started feeling uncomfortable, I should have used the safeword. I don't want you to dump your stuff, either. Not yet, at least. We'll talk about it more, as things go on in therapy, all right?"

Will nods slowly, seeing nothing but truth and love in his lover's eyes. "All right," he whispers. "I'll do anything you need to feel better, you know. Anything."

Orlando kisses his nose. "I know that. Deep down, beneath the old shit, I know that. I just have to learn how to know that even when I'm really scared. And Will, I'm never ever scared of you. I'm scared of my own thoughts, my own feelings. You have never, could never frighten me. I know you. I trust you," he adds, holding Will's hands close to his own heart.

Will's heart is beating so hard, it's almost painful in his chest. "I love you and I trust you so much," he says softly. "And that's... Knowing that's how you feel means so much more than you can know." He touches his mouth to Orlando's, just savoring the closeness for a moment. "You'll get through this. I have faith in you. You're so strong, baby."

Orlando nods. "I will. I can do it, now that I'm on the right path. I'll find that pot of gold," he says, and he smiles. "I will need you, Will Porter. Even if it feels like I'm pushing you away, I will need you."

"And I'll be right there with you," Will nods, pressing the palm of his hand to Orli's chest. "You're my boo," he smiles. "You won't get rid of me unless you sneak out of town in the middle of the night." He narrows his eyes as if thinking about that. "Of course, I'd track you like a bloodhound, so not even then."

Orlando laughs. "I might try it sometime, just to see if I can do it!" His eyes sparkle with mischief.

"Yeah, you do that!" Will giggles and gives Orli a kiss. "I guarantee you'll get tossed over my shoulder and carried back home."

"Oh really?? I might be tricky, you know," he teases, bouncing on the balls of his feet as if he were going to make a run for it now.

"Not on my watch!" Will laughs, quickly bending down and putting Orli over his shoulder as threatened.

Orlando squeals and wriggles, not trying very hard to get away.

Will is shaking with laughter as he holds onto Orlando and carries him away from the cleared path and stomps through the pristine snow.

"I feel like a yeti," he giggles.

"You are a yeti! You brute!" Orlando laughs, smacking at Will's backside fruitlessly.

"Hey!" Will shouts, laughing harder now. "The prey isn't supposed to assault the predator!" He quickly sets Orli down, keeping him off balance so he falls back into the snow. "I've got you now," he says happily, straddling Orli's legs.

Orlando gasps at the cold snow. "Here you are, all I don't want you to get pneumonia", he parodies, "and now you throw me down to freeze my bits off!"

"You do me well," Will giggles, "but I already knew that." He leans down to bite Orli's nose. "Don't worry, I'll warm up your bits later!"

Orlando's still laughing as he pulls Will down on top of him, then rolls, putting Will in the snow himself. "Caveman," he says affectionately.

Will had squealed when Orli rolled him over, but he sobers a little as he looks up at Orli. "That's me," he says softly, smiling, "your caveman." He starts laughing again when he shivers. "And my ass is already frozen."

"I told you!" Orlando crows, but he gets up and helps Will back to his feet. "Let's go find a nice hot bathtub, yeah?"

"If I hadn't already, I'd ask you to marry me just for that," Will chuckles, holding onto Orlando's hand as they head back to the cottage. "You feeling a little better?" he asks, tugging on Orli's hand.

"Much," Orlando confirms, snuggling in close. "I don't think I've ever loved you more than I do right now."

Will kisses Orli's cheek, hiding his pleased smile and the blush that colors his face. "How come when you say stuff like that, I feel as excited as the day I met you?"
