It's temporary and it's funny and all thanks to Iris. But, um, here's what I look like at the moment:

Visitors gone, Will found himself with far too much time to think about the day's events. The emotional highs and lows he'd managed to experience in the last twenty-four hours had left him as bruised as the physical injuries Kevin had inflicted on him. How could he be blissfully happy one moment and then terrified and beaten down the next? He shook his head, wishing he could stop trying to figure out what or how to feel. There were things that needed to be sorted out.

Calling his mother and his best friend still had to be done, as did calling Sandy and asking her to get his things from the loft. He'd asked the police if she'd be allowed in and they'd said she could get his clothes and whatever personal items he had there since the crime scene had already been investigated. There was one more person he needed to contact, but he was most hesitant to let her know what happened. Iris was friends with both him and Kevin, and Will was concerned what her reaction would be. No matter what Kevin had done to him, Will didn't want him hurt more than he already was.

The other calls could wait. Will knew he needed to do this. Clearing his throat, he said Iris's name out loud, hoping that she'd show up.

Will kept looking at the clock, wondering when Kevin would be back. He couldn't believe the way Kevin had left, and as he sat on the couch, Wendell asleep in his lap, he tried to wrap his head around the fact that he may have made a mistake.

Finally, tired of wondering, he decided to call on his friend, Iris. She said she'd be willing to talk to Kevin, and maybe now was as good a time as any to seek her out.

He cleared his throat. "Iris? Hi. Um, I was kinda wondering if you could come see me."

He felt a little silly talking to an empty room, but he didn't know any other way to call her.

"Sweetheart, have you seen my serving tray?"

Kevin looked up from the lasagna he was assembling. "Which one?"

"Silver, about this big," Will said, holding his hands apart, "and really pretty."

"Oh, yeah, I put it in the cupboard over the fridge."

Will smiled and went to get the tray, humming to himself. He was excited to have Iris over for dinner, and even more excited for Kevin to finally meet her. When he found the tray, he let out a little sound of approval and started whistling some song he'd had stuck in his head all day.

"You're really looking forward to this, aren't you?" Kevin smiled at his boyfriend.

"Yup," Will said with a nod and resumed his whistling. He'd stopped and bought some mini-quiches on the way home to go with the other appetizers he'd prepared. Now, he was arranging them on the tray, secretly thrilled at the chance to be so domestic with Kevin. "I hope she likes stuffed mushrooms," he said, suddenly frowning. "I'm assuming she doesn't have food allergies, considering she's a goddess, but--"

"She's really a goddess?" Kevin asked for the hundredth time.

"And not just some really beautiful woman?"

"Well, she is really beautiful, but she's also a goddess, yes." Will laughed. "Do me a favor and don't ask her that when she gets here, okay?"

Kevin wiped his hands on a dishtowel and picked up the lasagna pan to take it over to the stove. "I can't promise that," he said, winking as he slid the dish into the oven. "This is all new for me. I'm a little nervous."

"Aw, why?" Will asked, ceasing the appetizer-arranging for a moment.

"What if she smites me or something?"

Laughing, Will went over to Kevin and gave him a kiss. "If she smites you, I'll ask for you to be un-smoten."

"Gee, thanks."

"Or, you could just behave," Will shrugged, then grinned. "Look, just relax, all right? Food's in the oven, it looks amazing, we'll have some drinks and nibble on some stuff, and by the time we're all nice and relaxed, dinner will be ready. Sound good?"

Kevin nodded. "Sounds good." He kissed Will's cheek. "When is she getting here?"

"Should be any time. You'll love her."

I'm finally getting enough time to myself to write a quick entry. Last night, we had dinner with the couple we met on Friday Saturday. We didn't get home until about 4am so I didn't have a chance to post yesterday. Kevin's off today, so he gets to sleep. I, however, am dragging my ass. I'm so tired, I can't even see. Kev said that if I can't drive home, he'll come pick me up.

Mark and Steve are great. And I always thought I'd be jealous in a situation like that, but I wasn't. It was a lot of fun and very hot.

I'm drinking coffee by the boatload, hoping to get through Fillmore's stuff. Still no word on when he'll be back from what we're all calling his much needed mental health break.

Wednesday, we're having Iris over for dinner. I have to explain to Kevin that she can kind of just... pop up, so it doesn't matter where she's from. And I don't think he's going to believe that she was a man when we did the deed until he can see for himself. He's a little insecure about me and blonde women. I really wish I could take him on vacation with me, just so he can meet everyone in person.

Bah. Back to work.
